Numbat, a cleantech startup firm specializing in EV charging, has announced a partnership with tegut…, a Germany-based retail brand, in which Numbat will provide high-powered, fast-charging EV charging stations at tegut… retail locations throughout Germany, with up to 1,000 stations to be installed during the course of the coming year, according to a press release.
Capable of charging most electric vehicles in an average of 15-20 minutes while providing a platform for DOOH advertising and digital content, the partnership’s first Numbat station installation was completed in Dipperz, marking a regional expansion for the Numbat network.
“In future, charging the electric car will no longer need to be planned, but will take place quickly and conveniently on the side,” Christian Günther, who oversees energy management at tegut…, said in the release. “With the cleantech company Numbat, we have found a partner who is not only just as customer-oriented as we are but who also has the necessary know-how and the appropriate technology to implement such a High-Power charging offer in a way that is compatible with the grid.”
“Numbat relies on a combination of High-Power charging station and battery storage,” Martin Schall, co-founder and managing director at Numbat GmbH, said in the release. “On the one hand, installation is quick and uncomplicated, transformer stations are unnecessary, and tegut… also benefits from a sustainable and directly implementable fast charging offer for its customers. On the other hand, Numbat optimizes power consumption in department shops through energy management, thus achieving cost savings.”
