Kyivstar, a Ukrainian telecom and subsidiary of VEON, has announced a donation of ten million Ukrainian hryvnia (approximately $270,800) to Lviv Hospital in western Ukraine as part of its Children’s Hope initiative, according to a press release.
The funds will be used to purchase medical and lab equipment to treat child burn victims, of which there have been an estimated 15,000 nationwide since the Russian invasion commenced in 2022.
“Kyivstar’s positive impact benefits many vulnerable segments of the society, and we are humbled to support this important initiative, helping Ukrainian children in need,” Oleksandr Komarov, CEO at Kyivstar, said in the release. “We are committed to using our technology and resources to help improve lives, and this is yet another example of this commitment.”
