Samsung, STS Education partnership aims at collaborative classroom learning

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. has announced its partnership with STS Education, an educational technology firm, to supply Samsung Interactive Displays to classrooms, according to a press release.

Samsung Electronics America Inc. has announced its partnership with STS Education, an educational technology firm, to supply Samsung Interactive Displays to classrooms, according to a press release.

As part of the deal, schools will be able to get installation and maintenance services from STS Education along with access to Samsung professional development resources.

The partnership features the Samsung Interactive Display (with the model name WAC), an Android OS all-in-one collaborative education solution with models available in 65- 75- or 85-inch options. The multitouch technology allows up to 20 users to write on the board simultaneously either with the specially designed pen or with their fingers.

“A national poll from Gradient Learning found that 80 percent of educators are concerned about their students’ engagement levels in the classroom,” James Fishler, SVP, display and home entertainment divisions, Samsung Electronics America, said in the release. “As a result, educators and academic leaders are working tirelessly to address this critical challenge. Forward-thinking districts realize that the old-school practices like traditional lectures don’t resonate with today’s learners and are instead embracing new-age solutions, including the Samsung Interactive Display, which promote active participation among students, helping to draw their attention to lessons, boost their knowledge retention and ultimately reach their full potential.”
