Peerless-AV, a digital signage firm, has been tapped by a German financial firm based in Düsseldorf for an innovative floating dvLED installation in partnership with integrator DEKOM AG, according to a case study shared with this publication.
The installation took four months to complete and it included two floating dvLED walls installed in the windows on the10th floor of a building owned by a multinational accounting and professional services firm, where the windows spanned three stories looking out on the city, and the interior multifunction space is used for company events among other purposes.
The dvLED walls can be raised and lowered, with a maximum height of 12 meters (about 39.4 feet), using a system that includes a cable chain hoist, a lift motor and GENESIS control technology from ASM Steuerungstechnik GmbH. Peerless-AV was selected to mount the dvLED cabinets and attach the video walls to the lift system, which involved a custom-engineered mounting solution.
“No other mount vendor could provide the support structure required for this unique and challenging installation,” Jose Munoz, key account manager at DEKOM, said in the case study. “Working alongside ASM, Peerless-AV designed, built and delivered a special solution. Their expert LED team provided us with detailed drawings that took total load, weight distribution, cable management, power access, ventilation, video wall positioning and other considerations into account. Communication throughout the design process was exemplary so we had complete peace of mind that we were able to deliver the perfect result.”
The project was part of a larger project overseen by DEKOM AG, in which 45 conference rooms and other areas were kitted with collaboration and video conferencing tools.
