be quiet!, a Germany-based computer hardware manufacturer, has launched its Dark Rock Elite and Dark Rock Pro 5 air cooling systems for high-end and overclocked systems, according to a press release.
While the Dark Rock Elite marks a new product line, both systems are designed for compatibility with a range of high-end motherboards and RAM modules.
Dark Rock Elite
The Dark Rock Elite cooling system includes seven high-performance heat pipes and two Silent Wings 135mm PWM fans, which can achieve 2,000 RPM in performance mode or can operate at 1,500rpm in Quiet Mode. Users can switch modes using an integrated Speed Switch.
Other features include a front fan mounting rail with adjustable height settings; maximum heatsink clearance over the first RAM slot at 63.3mm; heatsink edge cutouts for compatibility with voltage regulation modules; and black coating with ceramic particles for heat transfer.
The system also includes top cover ARGB LED lighting; a detachable top cover for ease of installation; a nickel-plated base, which allows compatibility with liquid thermal paste; and a three-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Dark Rock Pro 5
The Dark Rock Pro 5 brings updates to the Dark Rock Pro 4 design, including enhancements to the system’s seven high-performance heat pipes and two Silent Wings PWM fans.
System features include a height-adjustable 120mm front fan with a funnel-shaped outlet for air distribution; a 135mm middle fan attached to the top cover for top installation; a fixed mounting bridge on the cooler’s base; and a detachable top cover.
The fans are designed with fluid-dynamic bearings, 6-pole motors, and airflow-optimized fan blades.
Users can use the integrated Speed Switch to choose between Quiet Mode, in which the front fan operates at 1500rpm and the middle fan operates at 1300rpm, and Performance Mode, in which the front fan operates at 2000rpm and the middle fan operates at 1700rpm.
Similar to the Dark Rock Elite, the Dark Rock Pro 5 includes a black coating with ceramic particles for heat transfer, edge cutouts for VRM compatibility, liquid metal thermal paste compatibility, and a three year manufacturer’s warranty.
