X, the platform formerly known as Twitter owned by billionaire Elon Musk, is to launch an app for smart televisions, according to a report in Mashable.
Referenced in a tweet from Musk (embedded below), the company is attempting to position itself to compete with YouTube for long form video content and will first target TVs using Fire OS and Tizen OS (used by Amazon and Samsung, respectively), and is considering later expansion to TVs using other OS systems, according to the report.
