Finland-based eye care specialist Silmäasema has partnered with Philips Professional Display Solutions (also known as PPDS) for digital signage in its retail locations, according to a case study.

The partnership included collaboration with FirstView, an integrator and PPDS Global Partner Alliance member, in the installation of more than 200 Philips D-Line Android-based SoC digital signage displays across 40 locations, leveraging PPDS Wave Controller CMS software.

The project also included 10-inch Philips T-Line Multi-Touch Smart Displays, which were installed outside consultation rooms, featuring built-in cameras and speakers.

“With FirstView innovating our in-store digital signage with Philips professional displays we can concentrate on our core business — giving the optimal eyecare experience to our customers,” Anne Rantanen, marketing director at Silmäasema, said in the case study. “Signage is visible and up to date without issues and staff are not distracted searching for remote controls and having to intervene on technical issues.”

“Wave Controller saves us time, and, in our business, time is money. Now we can proactively monitor displays anytime and from anywhere, proactively intervening if there are issues,” Laura Vaihinen, service manager at FirstView Digital Signage, said in the case study.
