LG Electronics has announced it will launch Apple AirPlay capacity for hotel room televisions in select locations later this year on LG Pro:Centric Smart Hotel TV models, according to a press release.

The launch involved collaborating with Apple to create a solution where guests can use a QR code to connect an iPad or iPhone to a television set, aiming for an easy process without logins and passwords while maintaining privacy and security.

The system is capable of streaming AppleTV+ content from iPads or iPhones to in-room televisions.

“This is a major advancement for in-room entertainment in the travel and hospitality industry and underscores how closely we are listening to the needs of consumers who increasingly demand simple access to their personal media options on the biggest screen, wherever they are,” Michael Kosla, VP of hospitality at LG Business Solutions USA, said in the release. “Hotels that offer this feature will have an immediate leg up with travelers who use Apple devices, boosting guest satisfaction while providing real differentiation from local competition.”
