LG’s 11kW Level 2 AC electric vehicle charger model EVW011SK-SN has achieved UL 2594 certification, along with the Environmental Protection Agency’s EVSE program requirements for Energy Star, according to a press release.

“Achieving UL 2594 certification underscores LG’s commitment to meeting required regulations,” Milan Dotlich, vice president and general manager of UL Solutions’ Energy and Industrial Automation group, said in the release. “As electric vehicle demand continues to surge, we are proud to collaborate with those helping fuel EV adoption and working toward a safer, more sustainable world.”

“As electric vehicles contribute to the nation’s clean energy future, using an energy-efficient, Energy Star certified electric car charger adds to the environmental benefits and cost savings,” Ann Bailey, Energy Star products director at the EPA, said in the release. “If all EV chargers sold in the U.S. met Energy Star requirements, the savings in energy costs would grow to more than $17 million, and 280 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions would be avoided.”
