American performer Post Malone has helped launch the TSX Broadway venue in Times Square, New York City with a pop-up performance to promote his new album Austin which included the venue’s digital signage capacities and display technology from SNA Displays, according to a press release.
The launch resulted from a partnership between real estate investment firms L&L Holding Company, Fortress Investment Group and Maefield Development along with AV consultant Sensory Interactive and display provider SNA Displays, which provided the video display and support system technology.
“We are thrilled to unveil the TSX stage with an exceptional artist like Post Malone,” Nick Holmstén, co-CEO at TSX Entertainment, said in the release. “This iconic moment not only marks the beginning of a new era for live performance in Times Square but also showcases our commitment to providing unique and unforgettable experiences for fans around the world.”
The venue’s main screen measures in at nine stories tall and 18,000 square-feet, wrapping around a skyscraper at the corner of 7th Avenue and 47th Street, with 8-mm pixel pitch and resolution of 3,480-by-7,440 pixels. The venue’s video display system is designed for 8K UHD processing.
The suspended stage features a pair of 86,000 pound double LED doors, engineered and fabricated by Show Canada Industries, along with a 4,000 square-foot stage positioned three stories above 47th Street.
