Laura Osnes and Peter Bryant star in the new Great American Family movie “Candace Cameron Bure Presents: Just In Time.”
In the film “Just in Time,” directed by Paula Elle, Hannah (Laura Osnes) and her husband, Rowan (Greyston Holt) have focused all their time, energy, and attention into trying to have a baby.
The pressure to complete their family starts weighing heavily on their relationship. The couple is left questioning if having a child is the right thing to do, and if they are still right for one another.
When Hannah receives a call from a stranger, named Franklin (Peter Bryant), who claims to have discovered an antique on the beach bearing an inscription unique to Hannah and Rowan, she reluctantly agrees to meet him to look.
Franklin is certain the watch is a long-lost heirloom from Hannah’s family. In the end, Franklin’s patient approach helps Hannah see that the answers to all she seeks will be revealed in God’s time.
The storyline is realistic and relatable, especially due to its redemption storyline. It tackles on serious issues, and how having faith is of utmost importance, especially in the adverse times.
Another hidden message is that “clocks are a constant reminder of the secret of waiting.”
Laura Osnes is delightful in the lead role of Hannah, especially since she delivers a moving performance. Peter Bryant steals every scene he is in as Franklin in this faith-forward movie, which ought to be enjoyed for its beauty and simplicity. In many ways, Bryant is the heart and soul of the rom-com, as well as Osnes’ character’s pillar of comfort.
Greyston Holt does a decent job as Rowan in the limited screen time that he has. Many male viewers (or anybody going through a challenge in their relationship) can relate to his character.
Also, it ends on a slight cliffhanger, which may leave possibilities for a sequel film or two.
Candace Cameron Bure (“Full House” and “Fuller House”) served as an executive producer.
The Verdict
Overall, “Candace Cameron Bure Presents: Just In Time” is the quintessential film to watch during Eastertime with the entire family. It is filled with levity, warmth, and positivity. Paula Elle did an elegant job with its direction and bringing it to life.
Each viewer can easily take away something inspirational from it. This film garners an A rating.
