Bacall’s Restaurant in New York City’s Theater District fuses classic Hollywood with modern American cuisine.

It is named after Lauren Bacall, the late Honorary Oscar winner and an entertainment icon in her own right. This journalist dined on Sunday, April 14th for brunch at Bacall’s.

Appetizers

As an appetizer, one should try their “Chicken Caesar Salad,” which comes with Parmesan cheese and croutons. Standout sides include avocado slices as well as their home fries.

Their “Key Largo” salad is also memorable, consisting of yellow beets, cherry tomatoes, pecans, radishes, and goat cheese.

Entrées

Their “Braised Short Ribs” are savory, juicy, and delectable (topped with onion rings) and served along with mashed potatoes.

In addition, their “Theater Steak” was quite tender (consisting of Hangar steak); moreover, it was served with Peppercorn sauce and mashed potatoes. Healthy side choices for entrées include broccolini and creamed spinach.

Desserts

Their Bacall’s “16 Layer Cream Cake” is scrumptious and worth more than just a passing glance; moreover, it is reminiscent of a French Napoleon pastry, and it comes in either milk chocolate or raspberry drizzle.

The same holds true for their decadent “Japanese Cheesecake,” which is also topped with raspberry drizzle.

“Bacall’s is a culinary oasis that promises an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish,” Rudy Bundini said. “The food is nothing short of spectacular. Each dish is crafted with precision and passion, resulting in flavors that leave a lasting impression.”

The Verdict

Overall, Bacall’s Restaurant in Manhattan is able to put its guests into a time warp back into the 1940’s when Lauren Bacall first started out her career (when she was searching for modeling and theater jobs, all of which led to an illustrious career in entertainment).

It has a warm, nonchalant, and pleasant atmosphere. The food portions are generous, and the servers, seating hosts, and bartenders are professional and top-notch.

Its decor truly captures the essence and glamour of Times Square during the “Golden Age of Hollywood.” The walls consist of images of Bacall in her youth along with quotes from her and her late husband Humphrey Bogart. Patrons feel like they are a part of that time period simply by sitting down and dining here.
